We've just announced that Wallace has won the award for Player of the Month for January. In keeping with previous months, we caught up with Wallace to ask him a few questions..

Tell us how you got into playing PES.

Well my friend had PES1 for the Playstation. I used to go up and play, I remember going Valencia all the time for some reason.. We also played ISS64 with dream teams, ahh fun times... wish we still had some of the memory cards with all our greatest goals!

When did you get involved with PES Rankings?

I joined back in the summer of 2006 I think. I met Nathan(Oldboiler) at a tournament in Bristol. We came top 2 and went to represent the UK at the World Finals in Paris, and he told me about PES Rankings during the trip, so I joined up when I got home.

What would you say were the best events you've been involved with, and what achievements have you been most proud of?

The best events are the Stadium Tours and UK Finals: Wembley, Old Trafford, Reebok and The Emirates etc. As for achievements, I like the achievement of defeating or even competing vs a world class opponent, rather than name a list of all the events I have won.

So, my greatest achievements were competing vs the best of the best at PES: Spank, S-Butcher, El Matador, Rob Mclean, wiDe, Jinxy and Ulf etc, by playing them all offline and achieving a respectable win/draw/loss ratio overall against those A+ of pes guys. Thats my greatest achievement for sure.

What events have you played in recently?

I played one event this month, the offline in Glasgow. I did get AC Milan out of the hat and I love playing as them so I was very happy, and I was very surprised winning the event because prior to it I did not even touch PES for 3 months, because I do not play online anymore.

Tell us something about your previous success in the Main Event?

Well I love playing at the Main Event - that's where you play the best in the UK, plus it is the hardest tournament of the year which for me makes it the best! I am consistent I think, I made quarters in PES5, the final in PES6, semis in PES2008 and the quarters again in PES2009... It would be nice to win it but the talent is too strong for me. The UK has always had top quality players.

How do you think you will do at this season's Main Event?

I really don't know - I can't practice online anymore, but I will just take each game at a time and see how it goes. I have only played 30 odd games this year, and I don't play on a serious level anymore so I will just try and make every game a real challenge to my opponent.

Is there anybody in particular that you think will be a challenge?

I am a big fan of "The Greek". He has been one of the best players for the last two years in my opinion. His scoring ability is amazing and I hate playing vs him! There is also Footimaster who seems to win big events all the time, and I don't know how Leng_Jay is at PES 2010, but if he is anything like last year then those are the three players I really would rather avoid if I got to choose!
